De la Laponie à la création d'une micro-tannerie de cuir marin sur le Bassin d'Arcachon

The story of Fémer begins long before its creation, with a passion passed down through the generations: that of the sea.

Marielle's mother, Monique Philip, is the wife and daughter of a sailor and has always been committed to preserving and promoting maritime expertise. President of the Federation of Maritime Women and an active member of a European network of women of the sea, she has worked for years to promote the role of women in this world.

Fémer's story begins in 2005, when she discovered fish leather in Lapland, a chance encounter with a material as rare as it was fascinating, which awakened a true passion in her.

Driven by this discovery, in 2010 she began learning the ancestral art of Lappish tanning, a quest that opened the way to a new era of creativity.

Quand l'océan inspire l'artisanat: la naissance de Fémer

Marielle, her daughter, grew up in this environment where the sea and craftsmanship meet. With a degree in environmental law and coastal management , she decided in 2012 to give a new dimension to this family passion by founding Fémer . Her workshop then became a place where innovation, craftsmanship and ecological commitment intertwine, giving birth to unique creations fashioned from raw materials from maritime upcycling .

Fémer's carefully crafted collections embody the very essence of artistic craftsmanship, where every detail is a promise of quality and respect for our planet.
